Blog Opt In Boxes And PopUp Ads

Happy Friday My Friends -

I was thinking about taking a scientific poll to see how my readers feel about PopUp Advertising (specifically on blogs).

I did not like them at all.  I felt like they were all up in my business while I was trying to get something done.

PopUp ads were a distraction that my self diagnosed ADD brain did not need or appreciate.

Some of you probably hate PopUp Ads.

However, with apologies in advance to Yoda, the Jedi Master - in the case of PopUp Advertising, feelings matter not.

It's the results we are looking for...

As some of you know, I launched a new member site called BloggerPop.  It's WordPress and Marketing Tutorials in easy to grasp, bite sized videos.

But in addition to the member site, I also launched this blog.

I launched the blog for a couple of reasons:

  1. Blogs are freakin' awesome for marketing any business.
  2. I wanted a new laboratory where I could test new ideas and strategies.

So, I log into the blog back office to today and check the stats on my opt in forms. (I have 3 different forms on the site).

The forms have slight varation in the copy, but for the most part they are asking people to subscribe to my WordPress Tips.

The first form is the standard side panel widget, the second is at the bottom of the content (articles) and the third is a PopUp.

Now keep in mind, I have not sent anyone from my list directly to the blog, so the traffic is coming from Facebook and Twitter at this point.

Yesterday, I had 88 unique visitors.

0 Visitors opted in to my list via the side panel widget.

0 Visitors opted in via the in-content form.

But a whopping 16 visitors opted in via the PopUp Ad.

Yep, over 18% opted in - a total of 16 leads.

If you want to see how I created the opt in widgets (graphics and all) click on "Resources".  It took me about 30 minutes to create all of the opt ins at BloggerPop with Hybrid Connect. Hybrid Connect also gives you quick and easy access to your stats so you know how your opt ins are performing.

If you are not blogging yet, all you need to do is click on "Get Started".  That page will explain all of the details about BloggerPop and give you a rundown on all of the click by click specific videos.

Have a great weekend!

PopUp Ads indeed works! Although at first it was annoying to me too LOL…… But we are in the promotion and marketing business so we definitely need it. Cheers!
